Are Kelowna wineries open year round?

Yes, some Kelowna wineries are open year-round, but not all wineries operate on the same schedule. Hours, tasting availability and whether reservations are required can change considerably between the main May–October season and the winter months.

During the May to October wine-tour season, most wineries have their fullest tasting-room hours, more regular tours and more opportunities to enjoy patios, vineyard views and outdoor spaces. This is also when Kelowna wine country is at its busiest.

From November through April, some wineries continue to offer tastings but may have shorter hours, limited days of operation or require an appointment. Smaller wineries may close for part of the winter. If you are visiting outside the main season, check directly with the wineries you want to visit before making your plans.

When Is the Best Time to Visit Kelowna Wineries?

If your goal is to experience the largest selection of open wineries and the full wine-country atmosphere, May through October is generally the best time to visit. The vineyards are active, tasting rooms are operating on their regular seasonal schedules and there are more opportunities to enjoy the scenery.

Are Kelowna Wineries Open in the Winter?

Some are. Winter can be a quieter time to visit wine country, but you should not assume every winery will be open. Some tasting rooms operate on reduced schedules, while others may be open by appointment only or close temporarily for the season.

If you are planning a winter visit, check the current hours and tasting policies for each winery before setting out. A self-guided route that works well in July may not work the same way in January.
