March in Kelowna wine country is a quiet, transitional shoulder season — it’s the very start of spring, with a peaceful, low-key atmosphere that many visitors find refreshing compared to the busy summer and harvest months.
Typical March conditions in Kelowna wine country:
- Weather — Cool and variable (daytime highs often 5–12°C / 41–54°F, nights near or below freezing). Snow is possible early in the month but usually light or none in lower areas; rain is more common as spring approaches. Dress in layers and bring a waterproof jacket.
- Wineries & tasting rooms — Most are open (especially larger ones like Mission Hill, Quails’ Gate, CedarCreek), but hours are often reduced (e.g., weekends only or shorter daily hours).
