Can I purchase wine at the wineries visited?

Can I Buy Wine at the Wineries?

Yes. You can purchase wine directly from the wineries you visit on a Red Dog wine tour. If you discover a wine you particularly enjoy during your tasting, you can usually purchase bottles to take home.

How does buying wine work on the tour?

  • Taste before you buy — The tasting gives you an opportunity to try the wines before deciding whether you want to purchase them.
  • Ask questions — The winery’s tasting-room staff can tell you more about the wines, vintages, vineyards and food pairings.
  • There is no obligation to buy — Purchasing wine is completely optional. You can enjoy the tasting and continue the tour without buying anything.
  • We give you time to shop — Our tours are designed with enough time at the wineries for guests to browse and make purchases without having to rush back to the vehicle.
  • We store your purchases — Wine you purchase during the tour can be safely stored in the vehicle while you continue visiting other wineries.

Do I have to carry my wine around?

No. You don’t have to carry your bottles with you from winery to winery. We provide secure storage in the tour vehicle, so you can continue enjoying the afternoon without having to keep track of your purchases.

Can I buy wine at every winery?

The wineries we visit generally have wine available for purchase, but the exact selection and availability can vary. Some wines are produced in limited quantities and may sell out, so we can’t guarantee that a particular bottle or vintage will be available.

Can wineries ship wine to my home?

Some wineries offer shipping services, but shipping options, destinations, costs and applicable regulations vary by winery and where you live. If you’re interested in having wine shipped rather than carrying it home, ask the winery about its current shipping options when you make your purchase.

Do wineries offer discounts when you buy wine?

Some wineries may offer a tasting-fee refund, discount or other purchase incentive, but these offers vary by winery. Ask the tasting-room staff about any current promotions when you visit.

What if I don’t want to buy wine?

That’s completely fine. There is no expectation that you purchase wine. Wine tasting is about discovering wines you enjoy, learning about the wineries and having a great day in the Okanagan. Buy something if you find a bottle you love; otherwise, simply enjoy the experience.
