Kelowna Activities
Kelowna’s bright summers allow for a wide range of outdoor activities, from early tee times and morning walks to single-track mountain bike excursions. Those hot, indolent days, on the other hand, are linked with lake activities. From Vernon to Penticton, Okanagan Lake runs 135 kilometres (84 miles), with downtown Kelowna in the centre offering a variety of watersports.
Swim and sunbathe at one of the more than 30 beaches in the area. Check out part of the new 27-kilometer Kelowna Paddle Trail while kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, or pedal boating around the lake. Tugboat Bay Beach in downtown Kelowna, Rotary Beach and Gyro Beach in Pandosy/Mission, and Bear Creek Provincial Park in West Kelowna are among the four areas where Okanagan Beach Rentals rents out boats. The Kelowna Yacht Club is close to the Downtown Marina, where you may arrange a private sailing charter or join a boat or yacht tour just steps from downtown hotels and the vibrant Cultural District. Flyboarding, parasailing, and jet skiing are all options for those seeking an adrenaline rush.
The spring fruit flowers had transformed into delicious cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, and, of course, grapes by summer. Join a wine tour to sample and learn about grape varietals ranging from chardonnay to cabernet franc, or visit a u-pick farm to select whatever is in season right from the tree. Summer is also the best time to immerse yourself in the city’s culture. Throughout the summer, Parks Alive! delivers music artists of many genres and styles to local parks and public places. Attend a long table supper or an outdoor concert or play at a winery.
